Last week I got some pretty amazing news. Myself, and a bunch of amazing and inspiring women were chosen to be Coeur Sports Ambassadors.
At first I was pretty shocked, then became ridiculously excited and even now I’m not sure what to say because I have so many things in my head. I’m overwhelmed and my heart is bursting with love from these guys. Since the announcement I’ve been meeting fellow ambassadors and loving how many strong women I get to stand with.
Coeur debuted at Interbike in 2013 and sponsored the Super Sprint Triathlon Grand Prix. They are a new and growing company that is putting their stamp on doing things right. These are a few of the things that made me perk up and pay attention. I believe in doing things the right way, for the right reasons and giving back when you can. You can read more about how they want to run their business by reading their Coeur Conscious and Capitalism post. Plus they are a company that loves their doggies, too, which of course if you know me my fur kids rule my household.
I started following along and interacting with them on social media. While we didn’t get the chance to meet when we were all at IMAZ, I feel at home with this company. There are a few companies out there in triathlon I have a pretty strong opinion about and will shout from the rooftops my love and support of them, and Coeur is one of those companies – with or without the sponsorship. They want to support the pros but also believe in the little guys – the age groupers like me who are just trying daily to make themselves better.
They also give out a Heart and Courage award for inspiring performances. It has nothing with being on their team or supporting their brand, but everything to do with fighting through a race that didn’t go your way with your heart. Dusting yourself off and dealing with the cards you have been given. I encourage you to read about it here.
I can’t thank Coeur enough for believing in me and supporting me. It means the world – and fills my heart to the brim – that they are standing behind me, in my corner. I’m excited to see what we can do together in 2014!
